Geskiedenis van die Skool

The school opened on 5th January 1982 with Mr. G.F. Botes, a retired headmaster, as acting principal. Pupils from Laerskool Nelspruit and Laerskool Bergland were enrolled. Only the Junior Department was in operation because the other classrooms had not been completed. The first 9 staff members were seconded from Laerskool Nelspruit and Laerskool Bergland. At the start of the second term, the first grd 4 – 7 pupils were enrolled and a further 9 members of staff were seconded. The official name Laerskool Laeveld and the slogan: Ken Hom en Leef was approved in 1983. Mr. D.A. Barnard was the first permanent head master from the third term in 1982 folllowed by Mr T.S. van Baalen from 2001-2015. The present headmaster is Mr.T.E. Krüger and the scholars increased from 553 in 1982 to over 1 000 learners.
